⚙ Runs on the Membership engine — tiers, voting, identity, :6060.
One member, one vote — with consent-based rules for anything that touches the commons, so a bare majority can't carve up the reserve.
We settle how we decide before there's anything to fight over. The co-op runs on one member, one vote. But for decisions that alter the commons itself — touching the forest reserve, changing the occupancy or share terms — a simple 51% is dangerous. There we lean toward consent-based (sociocratic) decisions: a proposal carries unless someone has a reasoned, paramount objection. It protects the permanent things from a passing majority.
Silvanus already clusters members who want to live near each other (the placement tool). Those clusters become neighbourhoods with local say, under one commons-wide charter. Working groups — water, energy, food, forge — become guilds with real authority over their domain.
Voting runs on the Soteria Membership system (verified identity, tiers), so a vote is one real person — not a sock-puppet. That matters especially given we may offer free membership to everyone who joins: the franchise is tied to confirmed settlers, which is what keeps it honest.
